The deadline for Poster Abstracts was postponed until
March, 31st, 2009!
INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTER SUBMISSION
Clinicians and basic scientists are invited to submit papers in the poster format that relate to the fields of TMD and Orofacial Pain. Submissions should fall within one of the following categories (please indicate your category):
A - Prevalence, progression and societal impact
B - Diagnostic, clinical and experimental characteristics
C - Pathophysiology and pain mechanisms
D - Efficacy and techniques of management
E - Growth, development and Orofacial Pain
Language: Abstracts must be typed in English and single-spaced, with 11-point, Times New Roman letter. All presenters must register for the conference.
A. Instructions to authors:
Abstracts must be submitted on line (www.icot-abstract.com). The body of the abstract should not exceed 250 words. Authors should be listed by last name, followed by initials, after the abstract title in Capital Lertters with the name of the author on the following line. Please do not include degrees or titles. In case of more than one author, please underline the name of the presenting author.
Abstracts must contain the following five sections IN THIS ORDER and labeled as noted:
Objectives (aims/purpose, hypotheses, and goals of the investigation)
Methods (brief description of experimental procedures including statistics)
Results (findings of statistical analysis)
Conclusions (one or two major conclusions, underlined, that are supported by results)
Funding sources including grant numbers.
All abstracts MUST provide results and conclusions (it is not acceptable to state that these will be presented or discussed).
Abstracts CANNOT include illustrations. However, tables may be used.
B. Please attach also a separate cover letter stating:
a) Corresponding author's name, postal address, phone/fax numbers (including country/city codes), and email address.
b) Degrees and institutions of the presenting author and co-authors.
A money prize will be awarded to selected posters,
as judged by the poster committee.
